MIT Library's "Campaign for a better world" repost

Chris Bourg, MIT’s head librarian, and one of the people that appears in my RIS community regularly, has initiated a new library campaign for MIT that directly connects to the ethical issues of the Radical Information Science community. In the discussion of the plan, she writes
“As MIT embarks on a Campaign for a Better World, we are reminded of the importance of ensuring that the fruits of research and teaching—at MIT and beyond—are radically more available to all those who might benefit from and contribute to them. A world in which anyone might consume and create new ideas, knowledge, and understandings is one that will lead us to solutions to the world’s great challenges.”
It is exciting to see a world class institution like MIT take on the challenge of making information more accessible to all. One of their four research groups is specifically focused on how to involve the community outside the University.
